Yes, I am a blogger!

left to right: my sister Tracey (my bone marrow donor), my son- Nic and myself showing off our cancer tattoos (multiple myeloma ribbon and the word "vida" means "life" in Spanish.
Well, I guess you are never too old to learn a new trick; at least that's what I'm trying to convince myself of. Yes, I am now a blogger, which creates a bit of a challenge for me as I have never considered myself especially eloquent or well spoken. Like Moses of Bible fame, I'm just not sure I have the necessary skills set...but this is just that important to me, so I guess I'll leave my comfort zone and give it a rip.
I have one simple goal in starting this blog-To encourage YOU, my cancer survivor friends. Cancer does truly suck, but for whatever reason, we've been dealt this hand. The day of my diagnosis with Multiple Myeloma (bone marrow cancer) was the darkest, loneliest day of my life. On that day I could not imagine that  13 years later I would still be cancer free and living an amazingly full life. How bout you...Are you newly diagnosed, consumed with fear and despair? Are you in the midst of treatment and finding it hard to hang on? Are you suffering from post treatment complications and in need of a reminder that there is light at the end of the tunnel? Wherever you find yourself at this moment please know that there are others who have walked in your shoes, understand what you are going through and want to encourage you through your cancer challenge. So how bout we use this blog to create a community of support? We already have a common bond; so let's get to know each other better, share our experiences and use what we've been through or are going through to help others along their journey. Together we can do great things!
